10 Lesser known Facts About Aamir Khan

We all know that Aamir Khan is the “Mr. Perfectionist” of Bollywood, as well as the industry’s most reclusive star. From his child-artist debut in Nasir hussain’s Yaadon Ki Baaraat in 1973, to the more recent controversial movie PK, Aamir Khan continues to please his fans with his “one movie a year” rule!

His upcoming movie – Priya: The Charming Girl of India – is expected to release around Christmas this year. In the meanwhile, let’s take a look at some of the lesser known facts about this Bollywood star.

1. Contrary to popular belief, Aamir Khan’s Debut as an adult was not Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak in 1988, but Holi in 1984.

2. It took SEVEN drafts of the Oscar nominee, Lagaan, to finally get Aamir to not only act in the movie, but, also produce it! By the way, he really got his ears pierced for the movie.

3. In his wife’s words, Aamir Khan is a “compulsive eater”, i.e. when he is not dieting!

4. He hates taking baths, because (he claims) he is a very clean person! He quite relished not having to bathe for several days, while shooting for the movie Ghulam, so he could get into the ‘tapori’ character.

5. Aamir hates parties with loud music. If invited to one, he usually ends up bringing guests from that party over to his home instead!

6. It would be a mistake to go by his serious demeanor. Aamir can be quite the prankster, as recalled by Juhi Chawla, when she was forced to flee the sets of Ishq because of the relentless ragging by Aamir Khan and Ajay Devgan!

7. Most of you probably know that he likes playing Chess, but he also enjoys a game of Tennis (was a State-level player in it) and Cricket. Plus he can solve a Rubik’s Cube in less than 13 minutes!

8. Remember the reference to Abhishek Bachchan in Taare Zameen Par? Aamir took special permission from Big B to mention it in the movie.

9. He is the only Indian actor so far to have declined having his wax statue at Madame Tussauds London.

10. Aamir Khan descends from a family of freedom fighters. Maulana Abul Kalam Azad was his great grand uncle.
