Actress Priyanka Chopra Jonas launched a fundraiser at the beginning of the month to help with COVID-19 relief in India, which is seeing a second wave of the pandemic. Now, the actress has written a thank you note on her social media account, announcing that the fundraising has been increased to USD 3 million.
Priyanka announced that the money raised so far has allowed them to purchase 500 oxygen concentrators, 422 oxygen cylinders, and even manpower for ten vaccination centers, which will help over 6000 people get vaccinated in the coming months.

Thank you to all who has donated and made these efforts possible; please know that you have contributed to the saving of lives. We’ve now accelerated our fundraiser to $3 million (22 crore INR) thanks to your support, Priyanka Chopra said, along with an update on the fund.

On Tuesday, Priyanka took to Instagram to brief her fans on the progress they’ve made with the fundraiser she launched. PeeCee went on to say that with the money raised so far, they’ve been able to buy 500 oxygen concentrators, 422 oxygen tanks, and even manpower for ten vaccination centres, which would help over 6000 people get vaccinated in the next two months.
Sonu Sood, Akshay Kumar, Bhumi Pednekar, Ali Bhatt, and Taapsee Pannu, among others, have aided patients in obtaining medications, oxygen concentrators, and Hospital beds. Priyanka was most recently seen in director Shonali Bose’s The Sky is Pink, which also starred Farhan Akhtar and Zaira Wasim.
